Background / History

Yang Jian is first identified by Jade Cauldron True Man as a young man with extraordinary aptitude and immortal spiritual aura already circulating in his body. Jade Cauldron hopes Yang Jian will become his disciple and eventually prove his worth as a teacher 191.

Ren Ze, impersonating an elder of Primordial Lord's lineage, becomes involved with Jade Cauldron and indirectly with Yang Jian. Jade Cauldron brings Ren Ze to Jade Spring Mountain and asks him to assist in teaching the talented disciple he plans to accept 192.

During the Heavenly Court's pursuit, Yang Jian hides at Jade Spring Mountain with Jade Cauldron True Man and Xiaotian Dog. When the Golden Crows deploy a formation to scorch the mountain, Yang Jian leaves hiding after seeing mortals, demons, and living beings burned by the heat, openly challenging Great Golden Crow for harming innocents to force him out 196.

Yang Jian fights Third Golden Crow using the Heavenly Eye, but the gap in magical power leaves him badly injured and exhausted. Ren Ze arrives, rescues Yang Jian, Jade Cauldron, and Xiaotian Dog, and defeats the Golden Crows' formation 196.
