Andy and the others replenished their food and fresh water in Menethil Harbor. Andy took another bow and slung it over his back, though this one was a standard-issue military bow. Besides his skinning knife, he now had a dagger at his waist.

The dagger was a parting gift from Nathas. A water-blue gem was set in its hilt. Nathas had come across it by chance while traveling the continent in his youth. It was a weapon enchanted with magic.

Menethil Harbor was a bustling port, gradually developing into a hub for merchants and travelers. With Gent, the king's chief guard, there to help, everything Andy did went unusually smoothly.

The other members of the party prepared their things in silence. The young mage named Alan gave each of them a magic pouch. They were the smallest kind, but still had more than enough room for all their belongings.

As soon as Vanessa got off the ship, she plunged into the crowd and bought all sorts of things as if she were out shopping. But to the other three, they all seemed useless.

Andy had finished packing and sat off to the side, staring blankly into space. The other three all shook their heads. They mostly looked down on Andy. The third-level mage, especially, could tell from his own abilities that Andy wasn't very strong—at most, he was about as capable as the mage had been at level one. Still, they couldn't help but feel a measure of respect for him. He had done something ordinary people wouldn't dare.
