The funeral of Kurokawa Genya, the former head of the Kurokawa Family, was formally held on the originally scheduled date at the Kurokawa residence, located in the deepest part of Noble Street.

All the notable mid- and upper-ranking nobles in the Seireitei came to pay their respects, regardless of whether they had ever met Kurokawa Genya in person.

After all, this was a rare opportunity to get close to a great noble of Senior First Rank. With the old and new heads of the family changing over, they could also take the chance to build ties with the new head—a win-win.
