In Las Noches's outer hall, mottled moonlight filtered through the ceiling and fell across the floor. The 11th Division soldiers sat scattered in small groups, chatting among themselves.

Yet everyone seemed somewhat distracted. The expedition that had just ended had left them not only physically exhausted, but deeply shaken as well.

"Fall in." Kuruyashiki's voice suddenly rang out from the entrance to the hall.

All the soldiers immediately sprang to their feet on reflex, swiftly forming ranks. After so many years in Hueco Mundo, they had long understood the importance of discipline to both battle and survival.
