Karakura Town's nights always seemed especially desolate.

At the edge of an empty street, an orange-haired high school student clad in black robes lay collapsed on the ground, covered in blood.

All of a sudden, a torrential downpour began to fall from the sky. Rain drenched his somewhat dazed face.
