Renji's Doubt

In the Sixth Division's prison, a burst of noisy clattering came from the distant gates, jolting Rukia awake from where she sat upright in her chair.

"So it was only a dream..." she murmured to herself. "Lord Kaien, if only you were still alive, just like in that dream."

The chaotic footsteps grew louder and louder before quickly reaching the iron bars behind her.

"Rukia..." It was Renji's voice.

Looking at the silhouettes cast onto the wall, as well as the shadows of the uniquely shaped prison staffs in their hands, Rukia knew that prison guards responsible for transferring inmates had come with Renji.

"What is it, Renji..."
