A Strange Standoff

"I really am unlucky. I casually picked the strongest one for myself..." Kyoraku looked thoroughly unwilling, though it was hard to tell whether he was muttering to himself or complaining to his opponent.

"It makes no sense. Those other two already looked incredibly strong, yet even while being surrounded by a captain and vice-captain-level opponents, each of them could calmly take on several enemies at once! If even that level of strength isn't enough to become No. 1..."

As he spoke, his somewhat resentful gaze drifted toward Lilynette, and he said in a low voice:

"I'm a little curious, Miss Number One. Just how strong are you?"
