Mother Spider at the Door at Midnight

The Phoenix Project had come to a temporary close. With his Self-healing Ability, the sense of urgency in Shen Fei's heart had eased considerably. Having inherited part of Logan's healing ability, he at least had some means of protecting himself.

In his room, Shen Fei sat reading through documents. Although the Phoenix Project had reached a stopping point, his healing ability had yet to reach the peak state he truly wanted.

What he wanted most was Logan's healing ability at its absolute peak. For now, his knowledge and equipment were still limited.

"We need to take down Osborn Company as soon as possible..."

Shen Fei muttered as he sent Klaw a string of messages.

From the information Klaw sent back, Osborn Company's stock had been depreciating rapidly lately. To make matters worse, it seemed they had also drawn the attention of the Tax Bureau and the Environmental Protection Bureau.

Their products were being seized one after another, and their stock price had plummeted. Klaw was buying up large amounts of shares.

But Klaw said that other major players were also continuously acquiring Osborn stock.

"Green Goblin?"

Shen Fei thought of one possibility. Norman would never willingly let his company fall into someone else's hands, but there was nothing he could do against a board decision.

He was probably planning to use this bloodletting to buy back control of Osborn at a steep cost.

Shen Fei told Klaw to acquire as much as possible, but to ensure his own safety. Spider-Man had already appeared, so there was no question that Green Goblin had appeared as well.

They had to prevent that guy from jumping the gun in desperation. Although Klaw now possessed some extraordinary power, he was still far too weak compared with Green Goblin.

Shen Fei was about to continue reviewing Jewel's situation. Before acquiring Osborn Company, he planned to deal with Jessica first. Her abilities were essentially a weaker version of Supergirl's.

With her abilities, he would no longer have to passively endure attacks.

"Just how should I handle this..." Shen Fei muttered.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

Shen Fei glanced at the nearby camera. Natasha stood outside in tight leather clothing that perfectly accentuated her curvaceous figure.

"Who is it?"

"Boss, it's Nitali!"

Her slightly husky voice seemed to tug at Shen Fei's heartstrings. Shen Fei shook his head. He wanted to see what this Super Hero Bus was trying to do.

But since she had chosen to come in the middle of the night, she clearly meant trouble. Had she gathered enough intelligence and decided it was time to leave?

Recently, Natasha had been trying to get close to him from time to time, seemingly hoping to earn his trust.

She had practically been throwing herself at him. What was this Mother Spider up to?

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s target was definitely still Klaw, or perhaps Black Panther and Eric Killmonger.

He did not know whether this Mother Spider had some instinct telling her that something was wrong with him, or whether she simply wanted to obtain information about Klaw through him.

But he could not simply refuse to open the door.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was like a stubborn plaster that would not come off!

Shen Fei locked the documents back into the password-protected case and pulled open the door. Natasha, with her red waves of hair, leaned against the doorway, her eyes moist as she looked at him. Both hands pressed against Shen Fei's chest.

"Boss, I wanted to talk to you about some recent work matters. After all, I'm your secretary. I think we should communicate more."

Natasha said with a smile, then walked inside and casually shut the door behind her.

Was this guy even a man? She was already dressed so revealingly in front of him, yet he still refused to take the bait!

Did he really need her to climb into his bed herself?

Feeling her body press against his, Shen Fei took two steps back, unwilling to get fumigated by the bus's exhaust.

"Go on, then. Are you dissatisfied with your work? Or with your salary?"

When Natasha saw Shen Fei step back, she was speechless. Are you serious?

She had made it so obvious, yet he had actually backed away!

Although Nick had told her not to bother with this guy, she always felt that he was hiding secrets. He spent every waking moment in the laboratory, and a few days ago, she had heard someone mention that volunteers had been delivered here.

The most likely possibility was that he was conducting human experiments here.

Klaw's information had already been gathered for the most part, so before leaving, she intended to find out what this guy was really up to.

"Boss..."

Natasha had just taken two steps closer when Shen Fei frowned and said, "If you have nothing to say, get out."

This Mother Spider.

Suddenly, Natasha took two more steps toward Shen Fei, her hands reaching for his neck. Shen Fei grabbed her right wrist and said, "What are you trying to do?"

Natasha secretly exerted strength, intending to break free, only to discover that Shen Fei's grip was like an iron vise. She had undergone professional training and was no weaker than an adult man in terms of strength.

Why is he so strong? There's something strange about this guy!

Natasha thought that she was leaving anyway. She had already obtained much of the confidential intelligence, and Klaw would soon discover that his information had been stolen. She could not remain here any longer.

Her left hand brushed over her waist. Just as she moved closer to Shen Fei as though she were falling into a lover's embrace, Shen Fei's other hand seized her arm as well.

Natasha looked up and met Shen Fei's gaze. His eyes held a faintly amused smile.

"What are you trying to do?"

Natasha's right foot shot fiercely toward Shen Fei's crotch, but Shen Fei moved faster. His right foot lashed out.

Bang!

Pain flashed across Natasha's face. With both hands caught in Shen Fei's grip, her entire body was sent flying backward.

Her long legs twisted, and her powerful waist strained to wrench her hands free from Shen Fei's grasp. But Shen Fei possessed enough strength to pull a helicopter, and with a violent motion, he slammed Natasha to the ground.

Without the slightest mercy, he snapped both of her wrists. Something resembling a button fell from her palm.

"I thought you wouldn't discover me yet. I didn't expect you to come knocking so soon!"

Shen Fei shook his head. He had been watching Natasha's movements all along. The moment she touched her waist, he knew what she intended to do.

Natasha was indeed a top-tier spy, but in direct combat, even Logan had been defeated by Shen Fei, let alone her.

Even if she had been enhanced, could the extent of her enhancement compare to the Super Soldier Serum?

"A Button Injector? Why don't you try it yourself?"

Shen Fei picked up the button. Just as he was about to make Natasha try it herself, she suddenly lifted a leg, revealing a pistol aimed at Shen Fei.

The trigger of the pistol seemed to be connected to something.

"Stop! Take one more step and I'll shoot!"

Shen Fei smiled and walked toward her. Natasha's other leg moved slightly.

Bang!

The gun fired. A bloody hole instantly appeared over Shen Fei's heart, but Natasha stared at him as if she were looking at a monster. "A Mutant?"

Because she saw the bloody hole over Shen Fei's heart healing.

But Shen Fei had already reached her side and pressed the Button Injector into her body.

The specially formulated solution entered Natasha's body. Before losing consciousness, she seemed to hear a laugh. "I left you a gift. I hope you like it. Hahaha!"
