After making the inquiry, Eileen sat facing Patrick and waited for his answer alongside Yuri.
Patrick raised his head to look at Eileen and spoke calmly.
"Eileen, notify our operatives still on Earth to focus their investigation on the internal situations of the Atlantic Federation, the Eurasian Federation, and the East Asian Republic.
"Especially investigate whether they have resumed the use of fission nuclear energy."
Upon hearing this, Eileen immediately understood. Her expression grew more solemn as she asked, "You're worried that the Earth Alliance has cracked the Neutron Jammer?"
Listening to the question, Patrick calmly nodded.
"Yes."
After that response, Patrick turned his gaze to Yuri. Seeing this, Yuri sat upright and looked at Patrick, waiting for him to speak.
Patrick spoke then.
"Yuri, lead a team to form an investigation group. Thoroughly investigate everyone who has come into contact with information on the Neutron Jammer Canceller, as well as everyone involved with Mobile Suits equipped with Neutron Jammer Cancellers. See whether any of them have problems."
"No problem." Yuri nodded solemnly as he replied.
Hearing the response, Patrick nodded at them both and asked, "Do either of you have any questions?"
"No."
Eileen and Yuri glanced at each other before turning their eyes to Patrick and answering in unison.
Patrick waved them off.
Understanding his meaning, the two stood, bade Patrick farewell, then turned and left.
Watching the two leave, Patrick leaned back against his chair. He raised a hand to rub his temples, his expression grave and carrying a trace of exhaustion as he murmured, "Lacus Clyne!"
After that murmur, Patrick's son's face surfaced in his mind, along with the scene of his son confronting him.
As he recalled that scene, the brightness in Patrick's eyes dimmed somewhat. With mixed emotions, he called out his son's name,
