Darwin looked suspicious, unsure of what these Barbarians intended, but his vigilance was raised to its peak.
The man walking in front wore a horn mask, yet his physique was much leaner than the towering Barbarians surrounding him; still, to someone like Darwin from within the Great Wall, he was quite robust.
The man behind him wore only a black mask, but his build was normal, similar to Darwin and his knights, and through the mask, one could see a pair of blue eyes.
A Star Kingdom person?
Darwin thought of this the moment he saw those blue eyes, but he dared not be certain, nor could he imagine how a Star Kingdom person could appear alongside Barbarians.
The person riding the horse with the skull mask stopped about ten meters away from Darwin and his group, and the person behind him stopped as well.
Mounted on a tall warhorse, he could easily look down upon Darwin and the others.
Darwin raised his head to meet the Barbarian's gaze, and he could see that the eyes of the high-and-mighty Barbarian were filled with arrogance and mockery.
"Master, how do you wish to dispose of them?"
The man following behind the Barbarian asked, his voice carrying a pure Star Kingdom accent.
Hearing that man use a pure Star Kingdom accent, all the knights, including Darwin, felt a jolt of shock.
Besides them, there were actually people from the Star Kingdom here.
"Naturally, I will capture them and use them as a gift for my father."
Judging by his voice, this Barbarian was very young, likely around sixteen, and he spoke to the man behind him in the Star Kingdom language with great fluency.
"Then congratulations, Master. The Chieftain will surely be proud of you, and he will value you even more than before."
The two ignored Darwin and his group entirely, as if these elite knights posed no threat to them at all.
"Bastard, you are actually from the Star Kingdom! Why are you with these Barbarians, and why do you serve this little whelp? Do you not know they are our mortal enemies?"
Russell, who had been on the verge of rage, stepped forward and roared; the conversation between the two had reached his ears, and his hot-tempered nature could not suppress the impulse.
"Hm? Who did you just call a little whelp?"
The young Barbarian asked in a cold tone. It seemed Russell's words had offended him; proud as he was, how could he tolerate such an insult?
"You, you little whelp, you dog-spawn! In a moment, I'm going to hack you into pieces!"
Russell bellowed, not missing any opportunity to strike at his enemy, even if only mentally.
"Insolent! Do you know who you are speaking to? This is Lord Dark of the Wolf Fang Great Tribe!"
The blue-eyed man behind warned. As his voice fell, the surrounding Barbarians began to stir, their weapons shifting. The giant-like Barbarian even bared his teeth, clearly unable to hold back any longer and preparing to strike.
"Heh, so it's this little mongrel. Just a bunch of Barbarians barely clinging to life here, calling yourselves a 'Great Tribe.' Come on! Fight me, let's see who kills whom. As for you, traitor, calling you a dog is an insult to dogs."
Russell sneered, his tone dripping with mockery, completely indifferent to the fact that the balance of power had quietly shifted.
Darwin, standing beside him, twitched his lips. This guy really seemed to be in a hurry to die, though in his heart, he felt a sense of grim satisfaction.
"Men, cut off his head. I will turn his skull into a wine cup."
Dark's face turned cold to the extreme; he could not tolerate being insulted by someone from the Star Kingdom.
In his eyes, these cowards who only dared to hide behind those high walls were fit only to be enslaved or crushed at will!
He still remembered how, when the Barbarians were in their prime, that so-called Star Kingdom had trembled in fear.
But now, they were rising again. In the near future, he would, like his ancestors, gallop within the Great Wall, plundering countless women and riches.
He had ambition. Having learned much about the various nations from his servant, his ambition had become increasingly fervent. He was no longer limited to the simple plundering of his ancestors; he had developed a grander ambition.
He looked toward the depths of the Spruce Forest, his eyes filled with irrepressible excitement.
Guided by the tribal shaman, he had risked bringing the tribe's warriors to this forest, all for the Child of God that had been left behind when the Barbarians scattered hundreds of years ago.
Once he obtained the Child of God, he would receive the protection of the Old Gods and become the Child of Destiny prophesied by the Frost Temple.
Thinking of this, Dark could no longer contain his inner excitement; success hinged on this one move.
But before that, he had to kill this rude wretch who had offended him.
"Great Warrior Kuro, you deal with him. Let him understand that what we could handle hundreds of years ago, we can handle just the same today."
Dark looked at the tower-like figure and revealed a cruel smile. Kuro was the reason he dared to come here.
As a renowned Great Warrior among the many Barbarian tribes, he had cost Dark three Ice Crystals to hire.
Recalling those three Ice Crystals, his heart bled. They were originally intended by his father to help him break through his Source Gathering magic level, but now they were someone else's gain.
"Heh, my great blade has been itching to taste blood."
With a hoarse voice, Kuro bared his teeth and squinted, smiling with immense joy, as if only slaughter could satisfy him.
He was a Great Warrior and a famous genius; he had reached the lower magic level before the age of forty. However, he lacked a legendary bloodline, which destined his breakthrough to the middle magic level to be a bottleneck. He needed resources—many, many magic potions—enough to support his advancement to the middle magic level.
He slapped the back of his horse, causing the beast to collapse with all four limbs broken, screaming in agony. His entire tower-like frame leaped high into the air, holding a large black blade that shimmered with a cold, icy blue light—the manifestation of boiling ice elemental magic.
He was a battle maniac who reveled in slaughter.
Kuro's face was twisted and hideous, his mouth still roaring with wild laughter as his long blade slashed toward Russell!
