Eri Kisaki let them in, then poured them each a glass of water before saying, "This morning, I received a package."
"There was a bloodstained knife inside, along with a threatening letter." As she spoke, Eri took out the knife and the letter.
When she had first received them, even a strong woman like Eri could not help feeling somewhat terrified.
In her panic, Eri had called Chen immediately to notify him, and only then had she felt at ease.
"Eri, did you offend someone?" Yukiko Kudo asked.
Eri nodded.
"Then who did you offend?" Yukiko continued.
"Yukiko, you know I'm a lawyer. I'm bound to offend people, and not just a few. How am I supposed to know who sent it?"
That was what frustrated Eri the most—she had offended far too many people!
"Actually, you should have asked Kogoro Mouri for help, or called the police," Yukiko said.

"Eri, think carefully. Have you taken on any major cases recently?" Chen asked Eri.
"I've taken on quite a few cases, but they've all been minor matters lately. None of them involved anything particularly serious."
"Could this be a prank?" Yukiko wondered. There were plenty of pranks like that; perhaps this was just one of them.
"If it is a prank, then it's gone too far. Besides, it's better to be safe than sorry." Eri did not want to gamble with her own life.
"Chen, do you have a solution?" Yukiko asked, worried about Eri's safety as well.
"Don't worry. Leave this to me. I guarantee nothing will happen to you, Eri." Chen smiled slightly.
