In the blink of an eye, two hours had passed. Chen packed up his fishing rod.

"What are you doing?" Sonoko asked Chen.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm done. Of the three hours, I'll leave the remaining hour to you. I don't believe you can beat me."

Chen pointed at the fish in his bucket. It was already full, while Ran and the others had only caught two fish each so far. Kazuha, meanwhile, had caught nothing at all.

Forget fish—even a tiny shrimp had eluded her.

"Looks like we've lost to Chen." Ran had already resigned herself to it. Even if she were given several more hours, it would be useless.

"How can you give up so easily, Ran? Let's keep going." Sonoko was unwilling to accept defeat and wanted to continue.

"Forget it, I've already given up. You do your best. I think it'd be better to take the chance to rest now."

Kazuha spoke to Sonoko. She had truly given up, and the reason was simple: she knew she had no chance.
