Fifteenth Chapter: The Ninjutsu Tsunade Gave Him

At first, Hyuga Shin had been excited about the Tenseigan's ability to see through things. But once he tried it, he realized it could only show people's chakra pathways and the flow of their chakra. He had gotten his hopes up for nothing.

"Shin, do you have any money? If you don't, I can lend you some, but you'll have to pay me back!"

Standing at the gambling table, Tsunade spoke excitedly.

"No need. I have a little money."

He took the last of the money from his wallet, then glanced at the equally excited Tsunade and thought to himself, Big Sis Tsunade, whether I get to enjoy the company of pretty hostesses or you have to work the streets depends on you.

Though Hyuga Shin had Observation Haki, he had never played dice before, so he didn't know how to cheat. All he could do was hope Tsunade would come through.

"Tsunade sure has a lot of money! That must be several million ryo." As he watched her take money from the Sealing Scroll, Hyuga Shin's eyes flashed with envy.

"Since this is your first time here, Shin, just follow my bets. I guarantee you'll win."

"Heh." Hyuga Shin smiled. If he followed her bets, he'd lose the clothes off his back.

After Tsunade placed her bet, Hyuga Shin bet too, putting his last ten thousand ryo on the opposite side.

"Shin, don't you trust me?" Tsunade asked angrily.

She had clearly told him to follow her bet, but he still didn't trust her, an experienced gambler. Tsunade was a little annoyed.

Hyuga Shin opened his mouth, unsure what to say. He wanted to trust her, but her track record was terrifying. How could he?

Hyuga Shin turned his head and pretended not to see.

Hyuga Shin was delighted. If he ever ran out of money, he could bring Tsunade to the casino and make some.

Otherwise, if Shimura Danzō saw him winning so much, the old schemer might send someone to assassinate him.

It might have been an unfounded worry. Shimura Danzō probably wouldn't assassinate someone over a little money, but Hyuga Shin didn't trust his character.

Shimura Danzō might have gotten a last-minute redemption, but in Hyuga Shin's eyes, black was black. No amount of washing could make it white.

They gambled until the afternoon. Tsunade had lost all her money and had even borrowed five hundred thousand ryo from Hyuga Shin.

"Shin, lend me another five hundred thousand. I have a feeling I can win it all back!" Tsunade said urgently, just like a gambler who'd lost control.

"Big Sis Tsunade! A little gambling is fun, but too much harms your health. Keep going, and you'll lose everything!" Hyuga Shin couldn't help trying to stop her.

At this rate, even if he gave her billions, it still wouldn't be enough.

"I think I can win!"

Do you have no idea how bad you are? If you actually won, you'd probably be the one crying, Hyuga Shin thought. He put his money away and left the casino.

With no money left, Tsunade could only grit her teeth and follow him out. Once they were outside, she grabbed Hyuga Shin and squeezed him, venting her frustration.

"I know." Tsunade replied, her eyes wandering.

From the look on Tsunade's face, Hyuga Shin knew she hadn't even thought about paying him back.

Forget it. I'll consider it payment for Tsunade's help. Without her, I wouldn't even have gotten into the casino, Hyuga Shin thought magnanimously.

In truth, he was already crying inside. It wasn't that he was a miser; he'd been poor for two years, so of course losing a large sum of money all at once hurt.

"Pfft!" Seeing Hyuga Shin's mournful expression, Tsunade chuckled and took out a scroll, handing it to him.

"You can have these ninjutsu in exchange for the money."

Hyuga Shin took it blankly, then said excitedly, "Thank you, Big Sis Tsunade."

"Okay!" A smile appeared on Hyuga Shin's face.

"You won so much money today. You should treat me to a nice meal."

"Of course. I owe my big win to you, Big Sis Tsunade!"

All of a sudden, Hyuga Shin felt he might have said the wrong thing. He had meant to thank Tsunade for bringing him to the casino, but it sounded as though he'd won because she had lost.

Tsunade tapped Hyuga Shin on the head and said with a smile, "Don't worry. I'm not that petty. I know how lucky I am when it comes to gambling."

Seeing that Tsunade wasn't angry, Hyuga Shin relaxed. You're only saying that now. Once you're back in the casino, you won't be acting like this.

They went to a small restaurant, where Tsunade ordered some fried chicken, dango in four flavors, and a pot of sake. She ate heartily, without a care for appearances.

Since Tsunade didn't care about appearances, Hyuga Shin cared even less. He stuffed his mouth full of food.

"Slow down. No one's going to steal it from you."

"Mmph!"

His mouth was already full, so Hyuga Shin could barely speak. It took him a while to swallow.

"This is faster. I'm used to it."

When Hyuga Shin trained, he pushed himself to the point of recklessness, so he ate very quickly.

In fact, if he hadn't had a Sage Body, all that reckless training alone would have worn him out.

After finishing their meal, he and Tsunade went their separate ways. The Senju Clan and the Hyuga Clan were in completely different directions.

When he got home, Hyuga Shin took the Sealing Scroll he used to mislead others out of his System Inventory and checked how much cash he had collected.
