Eri Kisaki froze for a moment, then gave Ran Mouri an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry, Ran. I don't want to go back and see that guy's face." Eri shook her head.
"Mom, just how big is the conflict between you and Dad? Why haven't you been willing to forgive each other after all this time?"
"Ran, you don't understand. Maybe the conflicts between him and me are all small ones, but when enough small conflicts pile up, they become big. Besides, what I want is an attitude."
Eri spoke with a cold expression.
That coldness was not directed at Ran, but at Kogoro Mouri.
It was normal for a married couple to have minor conflicts, but someone always had to compromise over those little disagreements. Otherwise, they would only escalate beyond repair.
Eri was a strong-willed woman, and someone as strong-willed as her would generally never back down. Besides, Kogoro Mouri had been the one at fault to begin with.
Kogoro Mouri was the kind of person who cared too much about saving face, but that only meant suffering for the sake of his pride!
If Kogoro Mouri had been willing to put aside his pride and take the initiative to admit his mistakes and apologize to Eri, they would not have lived apart for ten years.
Seeing Eri's attitude, Ran's face filled with disappointment.
"Ran, don't meddle in adult matters. I'm already completely disappointed in him. No, I'm not even disappointed anymore. To me, he's just a stranger." Eri shook her head.
Before meeting Chen, there had still been a trace of Kogoro Mouri in her heart. Now, not even that trace remained.
Now, whether her eyes were open or closed, all she could think about was Chen. She did not know if she had become obsessed with him.
