"Eri, I really can't believe you would..."

Yukiko's words snapped the dazed Eri Kisaki back to her senses. She hurriedly pulled away from Hyuga Shin's embrace and said, "Actually, I was just joking with you."

"So it was a joke!" Yukiko breathed a sigh of relief.

Still, Yukiko's gaze was full of complicated emotions. Judging from how Eri had looked just now, it didn't seem like she had been joking. That tender, affectionate look in her eyes had not been fake.

Yukiko didn't believe Eri could have acted it out. Even she, a former major star, wasn't confident she could portray it so convincingly through acting alone.

"Then who is he?"

"My name is Hyuga Shin. I'm currently pursuing Ran," Shin said with a slight smile, looking at Yukiko with amusement in his eyes.

Yukiko immediately lost her composure upon hearing that. He wanted to pursue Ran? Ran was the daughter-in-law she had already picked out.

Yukiko turned her questioning gaze toward Eri.

The complexity in Eri's eyes flashed away. She realized that she really seemed to have fallen for Shin, but Shin was pursuing Ran. If they got together, then what would that make her? A mother-in-law falling for her own son-in-law?

The thought left Eri feeling indescribably conflicted. Yet when she thought of it that way, it also seemed to carry a forbidden sort of thrill.

Eri hurriedly cut off those thoughts. She couldn't keep thinking like this.

"Eri, he wants to pursue Ran. You agreed to it?" Yukiko asked, failing to notice Eri's oddness.

Eri looked at Yukiko and nodded lightly. If Shin wanted to pursue her daughter, Eri wouldn't oppose it.

"Eri, you really approve?" Yukiko
