After Myrcella left, Lord Kevan gazed at the shimmering sea beyond the terrace and said, "Tell me, what is your true purpose? You may understand better than I do how Cersei will respond."

Gryn took a small sip of Summer Wine. "What I am truly waiting for is Lord Hand Tywin's reply. Given her nature, she will certainly go to him."

Yes, Cersei would certainly go straight to Lord Tywin, and she would raise a scene without regard for anything else.

At the thought, Lord Kevan's gaze trembled slightly. Could it be that Lord Gryn had so openly taken Cersei's side in order to use her to divide House Lannister?

If that truly was Crabb's scheme, then it was rather "regrettable." Within House Lannister, no one could defy—or dared defy—his brother. Perhaps Lord Tywin had no choice but to tolerate certain things for the family's stability, but he would never tolerate anyone damaging the family's interests.

Lord Kevan's deep green eyes shifted. He glanced at the young duke beside him, sighed faintly, and said, "The outcome is obvious. You should know that by doing this... all you will bring about is a quarrel between father and daughter, perhaps even..."

After a pause, he sighed softly and added, "Possibly hatred."

Gryn frowned and stared at him suspiciously for a while before speaking. "Lord Kevan, though a marriage alliance through Myrcella may seem to be an easy way to achieve peace with Martell, how could Lord Tywin, with his wisdom, fail to see the advantages and disadvantages involved? How could he send his precious granddaughter away at a time like this?"

After a pause, he added, "The Dornish... now is when they hate the Lannisters most. With just a tiny spark, I believe the fury there will blaze into an inferno."
