Background / History

Xiao Xuan was the last patriarch of the Xiao Tribe. As the tribe’s Dou Emperor bloodline declined, he attempted to break through to the Dou Emperor realm within the Heavenly Tomb and restore the clan’s standing. Hun Tiandi led Soul Clan experts into the tomb during the attempt; the battle caused Xiao Xuan’s breakthrough to fail, leading to his fall and the Xiao Tribe’s decline. A wisp of his remnant soul remained in the Heavenly Tomb. 133

For an unknown length of time, Xiao Xuan resided in a cave dwelling on the Heavenly Tomb’s third level. When Yao Chen reached him, Xiao Xuan was initially guarded, but his attitude changed after learning that Yao Chen was Xiao Yan’s master and had helped relocate the Xiao Tribe to safety. 139

When Xiao Yan arrived to pay respects, Xiao Xuan planned to pass on the final transformation of the Heavenly Fire Three Mysterious Changes together with the remaining Xiao Tribe bloodline power sustaining his soul. The transfer would have caused Xiao Xuan to vanish, so Xiao Yan refused the inheritance and Yao Chen intervened. 140 141

After Yao Chen became a Dou Emperor, Xiao Xuan imparted only the technique’s third transformation to Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan later cultivated it and formed a new Xiao Tribe Clan Mark without consuming Xiao Xuan’s bloodline power. 142 143
