Xu Xi kept his eyes on a monitor made from a secondhand 14-inch black-and-white television. He smiled and answered casually.

Beside him was an electronic device nearly half as tall as a person, humming and beeping. A thick antenna rose from its top, reaching some three or four meters high. It stretched from the factory serving as their secret base almost all the way through the roof.

"Where is he now?"

Yang Chu lifted his lunchbox and took a few more bites before asking Xu Xi again.
