Xu Shi had a dream.
In his hazy consciousness, he only felt as though he were once again standing in that pitch-black chaos, just like the previous few times.
But this time, it was not boundless darkness, nor were there tides or the Deep Sea. Instead, there was an unprecedented hint of light.
It was no longer just a few specks of light. If he had to describe it, it was more like the meeting point of two seas—one murky and one sacred.
And he stood right on that dividing line.
Xu Shi blinked. He knew very well where that light had come from.
Shen He's "United Will."
When he had undergone the Ability Transplant and received the injection, he had experienced it firsthand in that flashback sequence. He was more than familiar with the aura produced by the other man's Ascendant Ability.
So what was happening now?
The answer was self-evident.
It seemed that the two abilities were vying for dominance within Xu Shi. It was clear that this was much like what he had previously estimated—"Malice Entropy" and "United Will" were indeed somewhat mutually exclusive.
After being washed over by the Sea God's energy, the Rust Fog energy inside him had reached its threshold, finally creating an opportunity.
Looking at the chaos on either side, Xu Shi gave a disdainful smile.
"Malice Entropy" was his own ability, so controlling it was naturally as easy as breathing. The real resistance came from "United Will." More than half the source of their incompatibility came from it, which was why he had been unable to activate the ability he had seized from Shen He.
It was rather amusing. Shen He, the ability's original owner, had long since died, and even his remaining obsession had been scattered and crushed by Xu Shi.
