"So her name is Bumblebee? She really is beautiful. I'm so envious of you, sir. She's the dream car of young people all across America!"
Felicia exclaimed in admiration.
Still, Bumblebee had been reported on countless times in the news, and Felicia had done plenty of preparation before coming so she could secure the invitation. She'd read through who knew how many profiles on Bumblebee and Lee Stein, so she wasn't all that shocked.
After some more small talk—or, more accurately, a few well-judged, casual compliments for Li Si—the two of them got into their respective cars.
The black sedan pulled out of the driveway first, with Bumblebee following close behind. The two cars began to pick up speed.
Just then, an identical black sedan came hurtling up and abruptly screeched to a halt at the roadside.
"Wait, Mr. Lee Stein!"
A middle-aged white man in a black suit, with a very high hairline, got out of the car and hurried after Bumblebee.
Hearing the shout from behind, Li Si had no choice but to stop again. He then lowered the driver's-side window.
The black-suited man who'd caught up rushed to the window and pulled out an ID.
But before the man could introduce himself, Li Si had already recognized him.
His immaculate clothes, hair slicked back with pomade and a particularly high hairline, and that kindly, harmless face that immediately inspired trust—it was impossible not to recognize him.
"Hello, Mr. Lee Stein. I'm Agent Coulson with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Could I take a few minutes of your time to talk?"
Coulson glanced at the license plate of the black sedan in front. He knew he was already too late, but still gave Li Si a sincere smile.
"Sorry, I don't have time right now.
