"You dare!"
Brock was already guilty, so when he saw Li Si really about to call the police, he panicked. God knew what he was thinking—his face twisted in a snarl as he lunged at Li Si.
Unless someone was a seasoned regular at the police station, the word "police" still carried plenty of weight for most people, especially when they had something to feel guilty about.
Unfortunately, losing control of his emotions at a time like this was stupid enough. Lurching at Li Si was even more foolish.
"Get lost!"
A faint smile curved Li Si's lips as he swung a roundhouse kick straight into Brock's face.
He held nothing back. The kick sent Brock flying, and he crashed into a heavy, solid-metal workbench, overturning it.
"Security! Take him into custody!"
Abner was furious now.
The facts had yet to be fully confirmed, but anyone could see what was going on.
Besides, Brock's repeated rash actions posed a threat. Abner immediately ordered the security guards who had rushed over at the commotion to restrain him.
"This is slander, defamation! I'm being framed, Dr. Abner! I'm being framed! Those two are in cahoots, slandering me!"
The guards twisted Brock's arms behind his back, but he continued struggling and roaring wildly. His swollen, purpling right cheek streaked with blood made for a pitiful sight.
Yet the pain seemed to clear his head. He absolutely couldn't admit to anything. If he did, he'd lose more than just his job—his whole life would be ruined.
If word got out that he'd stolen someone else's work, his reputation would be ruined for good. No one would want to work with him or hire him again.
"Take him away for now! I'll report the details to the higher-ups and have them investigate!"
