Top floor of Stark Tower.
Not bothering to watch the plot the game had already arranged, Lee and Tony Stark left the virtual space after observing for a while.
"Virtual space really is a good thing."
After opening his eyes, Tony Stark still looked reluctant to leave. He got up and went to the liquor cabinet, pouring a glass of whiskey for himself and Lee.
"Now that you have Ultron, you could build one yourself with a bit of effort."
Lee raised his glass in acknowledgment and took a slow sip.
"You've already got a finished product here, so why should I go through all that trouble? How about giving me partial access to the virtual space?"
For once, Tony Stark's eyes flashed with a shrewdness completely at odds with his usual image.
"So now you're a freeloader? You want everything."
Lee rolled his eyes speechlessly. "I'll be blunt. There's no way I'm giving you permissions. At most, I can build you a private space. Whether you want to run experiments or do anything else in it is up to you."
"Fine. Better than nothing. You don't turn down free stuff."
At Lee's words, Tony Stark immediately seemed somewhat uninterested, but he did not press the matter any further.
After chatting for a while longer, Lee got up to leave as well.
But just as he rose to his feet, his expression shifted. He reached out and placed a hand on Tony Stark's shoulder.
"What are you doing? I don't like putting my arm around another man."
Tony Stark slapped Lee's hand away with a look of disgust.
He was waiting for Lee Stein to fire back, only to discover that the other man had already fallen into a daze, his eyes completely unfocused.
