First Faster-Than-Light Flight

Ten years later

Andromeda's bridge

"Report the current situation!" The captain sat in a command chair supported by mechanical arms, descending from the second level of the bridge to the center of the first floor.

"Andromeda has reached 99.998% of light speed. We are expected to break through the speed of light in thirteen minutes!" several crew members shouted excitedly.

"Excellent!" The captain raised his chair into midair, where he could see everything across all three levels of the bridge.

"My dear crew members, please put down your work and listen to me!" The captain clapped his hands.

All the crew members set down what they were doing, turned around, and faced the captain at the rear of the bridge.

"Thirteen minutes. In thirteen minutes, we will surpass the speed of light!"

"This will be the Milky Way's first truly faster-than-light flight! Thanks to the absence of a light-speed limit in Dark Space, accelerating beyond light speed has become possible."

"As for what will happen after we surpass light speed, and whether we will be safe... honestly, I don't know! The only thing I know is that by boarding this spacecraft and willingly abandoning everything in the Milky Way to fly toward a new galaxy, you have already surpassed 99.999% of the people in the Milky Way!"

"Whether we succeed or not! Whether we survive or not! We will be remembered by history! We are the Milky Way's first extragalactic pioneers!" The captain's impassioned voice instantly spread throughout Andromeda.

"Finally, let us bid farewell to the Milky Way!" the captain shouted, raising a hand.
