His right eye squeezed shut, bloody tears spilled from its corner. The instant he opened it, blood vessels filled his pupil. Within his line of sight, undying black flames spiraled into existence, completely swallowing Sasuke's Great Fireball.
Flames swallowed flames!
"What is this?" Sasuke's expression changed as he continued releasing the Great Fireball Technique. The cursed seal on his body emitted an eerie glow, and one wing had already spread from his back.
This was the top floor of the Uchiha Base. He had previously engaged Uchiha Itachi in a fierce battle, and both sides had expended quite a bit of chakra.
Facing Amaterasu for the first time, Sasuke fled without hesitation the moment his Great Fireball was swallowed. As he moved, Itachi's gaze continuously shifted, with black flames relentlessly pursuing him from behind.
Sasuke still did not know what Amaterasu was, but his keen instincts told him that he absolutely could not let those black flames touch him.
He fled at tremendous speed. From time to time, black Amaterasu flames fell in the distance, and the blaze ignited in the forest rapidly spread beneath Itachi's gaze.
The next moment, as his line of sight followed Sasuke's movements, Amaterasu flames ignited elsewhere as well. The more places Sasuke fled through, the wider the flames spread.
Before long, Amaterasu's flames had covered the entire area around the base, while the space Sasuke could flee through grew smaller and smaller.
At last, as Itachi's eyes shifted, black Amaterasu flames ignited on Sasuke's wing. At first there was only a tiny spark, but it rapidly spread. Sasuke collapsed to the ground, letting out a miserable scream.
Itachi began breathing heavily. When he felt it was about enough, he closed his eyes, and the Amaterasu flames went out.
Though he had told Sasuke
