The Whitebeard Pirates had made their name very early on. To them, the Roger Pirates were nothing more than latecomers.
Edward had sailed these seas since his youth and was unquestionably a seasoned veteran. Long before many great pirates had risen to fame, he was already renowned throughout the Grand Line. The New World was hardly unfamiliar territory to them.
"You sound pretty familiar with the Sabaody Archipelago." Shin appeared beside him and asked with a light chuckle.
Being around these pirates was quite interesting once one got used to their ways. But in Shin's eyes, most of the people here were juniors, and he treated them like children fooling around.
Marco jumped in surprise. Once he saw it was Shin, he quickly put on a smile. "It's Lord Shin. I wouldn't say I know Sabaody well. I just passed through it once when we last went to the New World, though we didn't stay long."
They had previously called Shin "Boss," but he found the title extremely awkward and declared it unbearably tacky. After using it for a few days, the crew decisively changed the way they addressed him.
Shin himself did not care much about titles. No matter what they called him, he was still himself.
But after the battle at Water Seven, Marco and the others no longer dared to call him whatever they pleased. Jozu's near-fatal injuries were still fresh in their minds, though they had not actually been caused by how they addressed Shin.
After much deliberation, they decisively settled on calling him "Lord." In Japanese pronunciation, it sounded more like an honorific
