Yet as the last stretch of the Red Line to rise above the sea, its existence was undeniably real.
In a sense, as long as Roger reached this place, he would naturally earn the title of Pirate King. He needed no one's recognition, no other ceremony—simply because he had traversed the entire Grand Line.
As for the legendary great treasure, One Piece, Shin could not muster the slightest interest in it.
At his current level, even the strongest thing in a mid-level plane was not worth a second glance. Only the world's origin was something he now sought.
The legend of the great treasure had existed even before Roger, but few had believed it. Perhaps after discovering what lay within, Roger would add some other things to it. In any case, whatever it was had nothing to do with Shin.
His earlier request for the "Satan Fruit" had not been because the fruit was powerful, but because he had sensed a trace of another aura within it.

Speaking of the Abyss, Shin knew very little about it. Through Dark Gaia's inheritance, he had only learned scattered fragments. It was an extraordinarily special existence in the multiverse, with infinite depths and darkness. Layer upon layer of abyss contained collections of all manner of negative existences; any evil or distortion could exist within.
