"Of course we follow protocol and lock him in Impel Down. Wouldn't executing him just give others a chance to rescue him?" Garp quickly said.
The others glanced at him but said nothing. They all knew about Garp's relationship with Roger. If there was a chance for Roger to survive, Garp would naturally welcome it.
Void shook his head. "No. Roger is an important chess piece now. Even after last year's purge, the pirates' power remains immense. We can use Roger's head to warn them. It's decided: a public execution. That is the choice most beneficial to our Marines."
