Ever since the Navy's great purge before Roger turned himself in, which wiped out stubborn pirate gathering places such as the Island of Sin in one stroke, it had become especially difficult for pirates to find ports of their own in the following two years.
However, this world had its own objective laws. Wherever there was demand, a corresponding place would inevitably emerge.
Especially after the Grand Line opened up, as the number of pirates increased, some ambitious pirates always wanted to make a name for themselves at sea. Thus, new pirate ports began to appear once more.
However, these ports could not compare in scale to the former Island of Sin, nor were they limited to a single location. Over the past few years, several scattered new gathering places had made names for themselves, drawing pirates who wished to make their way at sea.
Chaos Island was the most famous of these newly risen islands.
Situated at the entrance to the Grand Line, it possessed a natural and unique advantage. Many pirates would naturally choose to come here for supplies and to recruit new crew members after reaching the Grand Line.
Of course, there was no "island lord" here, nor did it belong to the sphere of influence of any great pirate. Chaos was therefore unavoidable. Fists were the only way to reason—so long as you could prove your strength, you could become the most respected presence here.
Yet pirates were not the only ones here. Due to the lack of management, all sorts of people could come ashore: bounty hunters, wanted criminals, notorious scoundrels, Revolutionary Army members hiding their identities, even Navy informants or World Government spies. Anyone you could imagine could be found here.
And today, a small boat came bobbing toward the shore. It looked utterly
