With Dragon's intervention, Luffy and his crew swiftly escaped Loguetown and headed for the Grand Line through the storm.

The entrance to the Grand Line was not far from here. If they went at full speed, they would soon reach Reverse Mountain.

"Ahahaha, we got away!"

Aboard the Going Merry, Luffy laughed into the wind and rain, completely unaware that he had caused all that trouble in the first place.

Nami could not even be bothered to scold him anymore. She had probably resigned herself to it completely.

"But come to think of it, who exactly was that mysterious person who helped us?"

"Dunno." Luffy answered without a second thought.

Meanwhile, in Loguetown, Smoker had begun reporting to Marine Headquarters and was preparing to personally head to the Grand Line to hunt down Luffy's crew.

To the two people above Loguetown, everything that had happened here was a trivial matter. And to one of them, everything in this world was trivial.

"You really were decisive," Shin said with a smile.

Dragon neither confirmed nor denied it, instead saying directly, "I have some questions I'd like to ask you. I can't concentrate with Luffy and the others around."

Shin smiled and made a welcoming gesture.

"It's about those books you gave me twenty years ago. I have some doubts about the theories in them," Dragon said frankly.

"Oh?" Shin looked interested. Smiling, he said, "Let's hear them. I've been rather bored these past few years anyway."

Shin had always been happy to debate theories and spout nonsense with others. Showing off his intelligence before smart people and acting inscrutably gave him a sense of accomplishment.

Showing off before fools only made you look like a fool, because they did not even understand what you were doing.
