"Those two have no value to us. I don't want worthless lives," Ghost Sword said.
"I'm not some killing maniac either," Asheer said with a smile.
"Thank you." As Kaguolet spoke, a ring of static electricity wrapped around his body. The air around him crackled with currents, and all his hair stood on end.
"So strong," Asheer said admiringly as he looked at Kaguolet.
"Your life is indeed worth that price." As Ghost Sword spoke, a Black Shadow vanished from its spot. Asheer pushed off the ground and charged forward in an instant.
Kaguolet went all out. Against these two, even a tenth of a second's hesitation could get him killed. Fortunately, his lightning affinity could spread through the surrounding area, allowing him to detect their movements in advance.
But detecting them alone was not enough. His body had to be able to react in time.
Ghost Sword never let go of his sword, but Asheer had not drawn his signature weapon. It seemed that, against the unarmed Kaguolet, Asheer intended to fight without a weapon as well.
Ghost Sword's black-and-red longsword was already pointed at Kaguolet's throat. Kaguolet narrowly evaded it, and from that single strike alone, he understood Ghost Sword's strength.
He had dodged Ghost Sword's lethal attack at full speed, yet a shallow bloody line still appeared on his neck. Had he been even a little slower, Kaguolet's head would already have hit the ground.
But evading Ghost Sword's attack had already pushed his body to its limit. Then, almost at the same time, Asheer's punch arrived before him.
There was no time to dodge now. Kaguolet took Asheer's punch head-on and was blasted away like a cannonball. Pain surged through him as he slammed heavily into a large boulder behind him, shattering it to pieces.
