Marshal Canopy's attack from the north had tied down a considerable number of demon troops, but breaking through the demons' defenses was still quite difficult.
The fortress before Uchiha Shin and the others held nearly three hundred thousand demon soldiers. With them guarding it, there was simply no way through.
Uchiha Shin and the Fourth Princess flew through the surrounding skies together, searching for a way to break through.
"Is that a river over there?" Uchiha Shin suddenly asked, pointing north of the stronghold.
The Fourth Princess looked over and said, "It is a river. The trees and high slopes over there blocked it from view, so we didn't notice it before."
Uchiha Shin nodded and looked northward. The river flowed down from the north; the north was high, while the south was low.
Uchiha Shin said, "What if we use this river to flood the fortress? Do you think that would work?"
The Fourth Princess flew a little higher and studied the positions of the river and the fortress before shaking her head.
"The river's upper reaches are guarded by their demon soldiers. Though the terrain there isn't as treacherous as this place, it's still easy to defend and hard to attack. Even if we took the upper reaches and dammed the river, releasing the water still wouldn't flood the fortress."
The Fourth Princess pointed into the distance as she spoke to Uchiha Shin.
"Once the river bursts its banks, there's a forest and a cliff near the fortress blocking its path. The water simply can't get in."
