The woman pushed herself to her feet with both hands and glanced at Uchiha Shin.
"Who are you? You're not from the Spirit Demon Clan, are you?" the woman asked.
Her face was covered, so he could not make out her features or tell her age. But from her voice, she sounded like a young woman.
"I'm an outsider. I came to Cloud Spirit Island this time to help my friend," Uchiha Shin replied.
"Help your friend? That man who wants to be with someone from our Spirit Demon Clan?"
Uchiha Shin smiled. "That's right. He's my sixth senior brother."
The woman gave a cold laugh. "That kid is quite capable, actually. He managed to pass the trial of the Life-and-Death Formation."
Uchiha Shin stared at the woman. Her laughter made him somewhat uneasy. He felt that she did not seem to like Leng Yuezi very much.
"Kid, what's your name?"
"Uchiha Shin," he answered. "And yours?"
The woman did not answer. She leaped into the air and vanished from before Uchiha Shin in an instant.
Uchiha Shin shook his head. That woman really was strange.
After returning to his quarters, Uchiha Shin went to rest and slept until noon.
Leng Yuezi had gone to speak with the Spirit Demon King, while Uchiha Shin and Goku chatted in the courtyard.
By nightfall, Leng Yuezi still had not returned, and Uchiha Shin began to feel a hint of unease.
Just as he was about to go out with Goku to take a look, a fierce wind began to blow through the sky, accompanied by swirling black mist.
Then they heard a burst of chaos.
Before long, the Mulberry Tree Spirit came rushing in. "Bad news! Bad news! Something terrible has happened!"
"Old Mulberry Tree, what happened?" Goku grabbed him and asked.
