"Have you heard of this Blackwater Pool?" Uchiha Shin asked.
Jiang Ziyi shook her head.
"This is Jiang Clan territory, so why is it a forbidden area? Could there be something beneath Blackwater Pool?" Uchiha Shin stared at the pool.
After a pause, he said, "I'll go down and take a look."
"Be careful."
Uchiha Shin walked toward Blackwater Pool, but the moment he reached its surface, a mysterious force blocked him. He could not enter at all.
This left Uchiha Shin feeling rather helpless.
"I'll try!" Jiang Ziyi said, leaping into the air, only to be stopped by the same force.
Uchiha Shin tried several more times, but still failed.
Standing beside Blackwater Pool, Uchiha Shin looked at it. For some reason, a sudden sense of familiarity rose in his heart, as though he had encountered it somewhere before.
He raised his head and looked at the dozen or so torches around them. "How about we light these fires first?"
The two leaped into the air and lit the braziers atop the dozen or so pillars.
In an instant, the vast, dim space became brilliantly illuminated, firelight flickering everywhere.
Then, a faint golden glow emerged above Blackwater Pool, followed by one pattern after another.
Those patterns then floated around and above Blackwater Pool, shining with golden light.
Uchiha Shin and Jiang Ziyi both studied them, but neither understood what they meant.
"Are we supposed to decipher these patterns?" Uchiha Shin asked.
Jiang Ziyi examined them and said, "Although I've never seen these runes before, if they're broken apart, I recognize some of them. They are some of the Jiang Clan's talismans, along with combinations of certain formations."
After hearing this, Uchiha Shin understood a little more. They indeed had some connection to the Jiang Clan.
