Xuanzang sat down before the Daoist, smiling.
The Daoist studied Xuanzang carefully, then had him hold out his hand and examined it as well.
"Not bad. You truly are a fortunate man. Your future will surely be extraordinary." Stroking his beard, the Daoist nodded with a smile.
"Extraordinary? How so? Could I perhaps become a great figure in the Buddhist Sect like the Tathagata Buddha someday?" Xuanzang asked with a smile.
The Daoist smiled as well. "If the opportunity truly arises, you indeed have that possibility."
Xuanzang was surprised. He had only said it as a joke, yet this Daoist had actually agreed with him.
"Daoist, please do not say such things. My master is the leader of our Buddhist Sect and revered by all its disciples. Please do not make such jokes," Xuanzang said seriously.
The Daoist smiled again. "Little master, your fortune is powerful, and you will certainly be no ordinary man in the future. But you must also be careful. Success is determined by Heaven, but plans are made by man. Heaven has granted you great fortune, yet whether you can ultimately succeed still depends on yourself.
"If you possess great innate advantages but fail to work hard, fail to protect and expand those advantages, then it will still be difficult to succeed in the future. That is why success is determined by Heaven, but plans are made by man. Everything depends on human effort!"
Xuanzang nodded after hearing this. "Daoist, your words make great sense. This humble monk admires you."
Uchiha Shin watched from the side and felt that the Daoist's words were indeed reasonable, carrying the sense that man could conquer Heaven.
