After the time it took to drink a cup of tea, Uchiha Shin and the others planned to go down and bring Xuanzang's body back up.
But just as they were about to move, they saw golden light begin to flicker around Xuanzang.
Then they saw Xuanzang's body slowly float up. His body moved into a cross-legged seated position, suspended in midair, golden light radiating from all over him. The golden light spread outward in every direction, suppressing the glow of the Six-Character Mantra.
Everyone was once again filled with shock at the sight. What was going on?
Hadn't Xuanzang just died? Why had he suddenly come back to life?
It would have been one thing if he had simply come back to life, but he was now emitting such powerful light that it could suppress the Six-Character Mantra's radiance. It was truly astounding.
Beyond shock, Tathagata Buddha and the Three Pure Ones felt worry in their eyes. Tathagata Buddha in particular suddenly felt that this matter had exceeded his expectations and was slipping somewhat beyond his control.
Patriarch Bodhi, who had just arrived, froze for a moment at the sight before smiling. "It seems I worried for nothing."
Shaking his head, Patriarch Bodhi did not approach Five Elements Mountain and instead returned the way he had come.
Xuanzang opened his eyes. They were exceptionally calm—the purest eyes in the world.
Slowly descending, Xuanzang landed atop Five Elements Mountain and headed toward the Six-Character Mantra once more.
This time, Xuanzang felt no pressure at all. Walking atop Five Elements Mountain was like walking through the fields of the countryside, easy and pleasant.
Xuanzang walked before the Six-Character Mantra, pressed his palms together, and smiled faintly. "My thanks."
Then Xuanzang extended his right hand and gently peeled away the Six-Character Mantra.
