Yuanshi Tianzun followed in secret, so naturally no one else could detect him.
After hearing Tongtian Cult Leader's words, Taishang Laojun nodded slightly.
"Is anything happening at Guanyin Monastery? Can it affect them?" Taishang Laojun asked.
If they could affect them, it would be a good thing—at the very least, it could buy them some time.
"The message Second Senior Brother sent said that Elder Jinchi of Guanyin Monastery has lived for more than two hundred years..."
"How could an ordinary mortal like him live so long?" Taishang Laojun interrupted Tongtian Cult Leader.
"That is because Elder Jinchi is on good terms with the Black Bear demon of Black Wind Mountain near Guanyin Monastery. The Black Bear demon usually likes refining pills and gives them all to Elder Jinchi, which is why he has lived to such an advanced age," Tongtian Cult Leader explained.
Taishang Laojun nodded and stroked his beard thoughtfully.
"Though Elder Jinchi has lived to a great age, he has never managed to cleanse his six senses. He is somewhat greedy for wealth and also fond of fame and profit," Tongtian Cult Leader continued.
"The Black Bear demon does not think much of Elder Jinchi either. If it were not using him to cultivate Buddhist teachings, it would likely have killed Elder Jinchi long ago."
As Tongtian Cult Leader spoke of Elder Jinchi, dissatisfaction filled his eyes as well. He must have known of some of Elder Jinchi's deeds. He was unworthy of being a monk, and even less worthy of being an ordinary man.
Taishang Laojun nodded faintly. "I think we can use Elder Jinchi and the Black Bear demon to deal with Xuanzang and the others. Even if they cannot kill them, they can at least delay them for a while. What do you think?"
