Patriarch Bodhi closed his eyes and paid Uchiha Shin no further attention.
Uchiha Shin shook his head helplessly, then turned and left Patriarch Bodhi's quarters.
Patriarch Bodhi opened his eyes and watched Uchiha Shin depart. He shook his head, then closed his eyes again and resumed meditating.
Standing by the doorway, Uchiha Shin gazed up at the sky. He had just told Patriarch Bodhi a small lie as well.

But he did know. Before he saw the Ghost Clan, that voice in his mind had sounded—the same voice he had heard back in the bamboo grove.
When that voice rang out, it made Uchiha Shin look toward the stairs. Curious, he looked over and saw that Ghost Clan standing there, staring at him. Although he could not make out its appearance, he could feel that the Ghost Clan was gazing straight at him.
Uchiha Shin had been greatly startled at the time. He had thought some foreign evil creature had secretly slipped in, so he attacked immediately.
