Ever since Xuanzang had learned how to fight tigers, he had always wanted to put the skill to use.
When he had been traveling with Goku before, he had constantly shown off this skill to him. He had even taken down a tiger by himself right in front of Goku, leaving Goku quite astonished at the time.
He had yet to show off this skill in front of the others.
"Let's keep heading forward. I think there should be another tiger nearby," Xuanzang said after surveying the area.
Everyone nodded and followed Xuanzang onward.
Sure enough, after they had traveled a hundred zhang, they spotted a tiger.
The tiger was lying in the woods, seemingly waiting for prey. Seeing Xuanzang and the others appear nearby, it too was surprised.
"You all stand back. Let your master demonstrate how to capture a tiger. I won't use even a fraction of magic—I'll rely entirely on my own martial skills," Xuanzang said to his companions with a smile.
Marshal Canopy and the others retreated, leaving Xuanzang to demonstrate.
Seeing Xuanzang provoke it, the tiger's eyes filled with anger. It was, after all, the king of beasts—how could it allow itself to be provoked by a mere mortal?
Roar!
The tiger let out an angry roar and pounced at Xuanzang, moving with tremendous speed and force.
Xuanzang stood still, his expression calm.
Whoosh!
Xuanzang suddenly flashed aside, moving so fast that he easily dodged the tiger's pounce. Then his Khakkhara shot out and smashed heavily into the tiger's back. The tiger cried out in agony. That blow had hurt terribly.
Xuanzang then tossed aside his Khakkhara and leaped toward the tiger. He landed squarely on its back, pinned it to the ground, and began raining down punch after punch, every strike landing solidly.
Marshal
