Lord Liu collapsed to the ground, feeling both humiliated and enraged, but even more than that, he was afraid.
These people were incredibly strong. Simply standing before them made him feel pressured, and after witnessing the immense power they had just unleashed, Lord Liu no longer dared to face them head-on.
"Where is your evidence?" Uchiha Shin asked again. His voice was icy, sending chills down the listeners' backs.
Lord Liu involuntarily slumped to the ground and said tremblingly, "I... I don't have an order to arrest you. It came down from above. I have no evidence."
"So, someone among you wants to come after us?" Uchiha Shin said blandly.
Lord Liu sat on the ground in silence. He no longer knew what to say.
The surrounding commoners were also filled with shock at the sight. They had thought that since the authorities had issued such an order, there must surely have been solid evidence. But now, that did not seem to be the case.
They were all beginning to doubt, not knowing what they should do.
"Everyone, I know you are deeply enraged over your children's deaths. But I hope you can calm down as well. We must find the real culprit and not falsely accuse anyone," Uchiha Shin continued.
Though Uchiha Shin had said so, the commoners around them still did not quite believe him.
After a brief pause, Uchiha Shin was about to say more. He knew that if he kept speaking, he could dispel the commoners' hatred and stop them from suspecting him.
But a shout suddenly rang out from outside, demanding that Uchiha Shin and the others come out.
Uchiha Shin looked over and saw a man in lavish robes standing outside the window, surrounded by many experts.
"Demon who murdered and ate people, get
