Uchiha Shin said, "From the moment the king began neglecting you, he probably ceased to be your father. So he may not truly know you either. If you really want to confirm it, you can find the king and ask him some private questions—things only you and your parents would know—and see whether this king can answer them."
The Crown Prince said, "I am currently confined within the Crown Prince's residence. I cannot leave at all, so it will be difficult for me to see my father and confirm it."
"The Crown Prince need not worry. We have already received word that the king will come to the Crown Prince's residence tomorrow morning to see you. You can ask him then," Uchiha Shin said.
The Crown Prince nodded.
Uchiha Shin handed the Crown Prince a talisman, telling him to crush it if anything happened. They would rush over immediately. Then the group left the Crown Prince's residence.
The Crown Prince barely slept that night. As he thought over what Uchiha Shin and the others had said, his heart was filled with unease.
If what Uchiha Shin and the others said was true, he truly found it hard to accept.
As he carefully recalled the king's changes over the past few years, the Crown Prince felt that Uchiha Shin and the others might have had a point. The king had changed far too much. Many of the things he did were always difficult to understand and completely unlike his former style.
The next morning, the king indeed came to the Crown Prince's residence.
Just as before, the Crown Prince respectfully welcomed his father. Although Uchiha Shin had said those things, they had yet to be confirmed. Until then, this man was still his father, and he had to show him respect.
