Lu Xuan stroked her hair and smiled. "Just something that happened in the past. I beat him up once. I didn't expect him to remember it even now."
"Oh." Konan nodded, seemingly lost in thought.
The two of them were walking across the sea, already within the borders of the Land of Water. Thick fog gradually rose, shrouding their figures.
"Master, tell me about your past." Konan's gentle voice drifted through the dense fog.
In March of Konoha's fiftieth year, Sunagakure's second Jinchuriki died, and the One-Tail Shukaku went on a rampage, causing massive casualties in Sunagakure. In the end, under the leadership of the Third Kazekage, Sunagakure sealed Shukaku once more. However, without a suitable Jinchuriki candidate, they could only temporarily seal him within an altar.
To the other villages, this was merely a minor incident. At most, they cast a glance or two in its direction before returning to deal with their own affairs.
Afterward, Sunagakure conducted a detailed investigation into Shukaku's sudden rampage. Sunagakure's higher-ups believed this was not simply an incident of a Tailed Beast losing control. Although the guarding shinobi had been battered beyond recognition by rocks, it did not appear that they had died at Shukaku's hands.
