Chapter 4: System Activation
The next student soon began introducing himself. Ye Han sat at his desk and listened. He needed to memorize everyone's names, just as the Fourth Hokage had said. Two of these students would become his teammates in the future, so since he had no idea who they might be, he needed to pay close attention.
Suddenly, Ye Han heard a name that seemed familiar. "My name is Uchiha Itachi. Pleased to meet you!"
The class broke into chatter again. Having two members of the Uchiha Clan and one member of the Hyuga Clan in a single class was quite rare for a group of ordinary civilians.
Ye Han was dumbstruck. Uchiha Itachi? Damn, was this some kind of mistake? He was actually in the same class as Uchiha Itachi! Ye Han turned around and saw that the boy was sitting right beside him.
The boy wore clothes much like Ye Han's. He was young, yet composed and quiet. Ye Han hadn't even noticed him before. The greatest danger had been right beside him all along. Ye Han's Uchiha heritage was just for show; this boy was a bona fide member of the Uchiha Clan.
Should he take him out ahead of time? Uh, Ye Han probably wasn't a match for him. Maybe he wouldn't even last one move before getting taken down.
Uchiha Itachi seemed to notice Ye Han looking at him and nodded. Ye Han nodded back out of habit, but he still wanted to avoid getting involved with him. It would be best if Itachi didn't know who he was.
[Ding—! The host has made contact with a main character. The Mall System has been activated!]
A mechanical-sounding voice suddenly rang in Ye Han's ears. Startled, he jumped straight up from his seat.
Ye Han's sudden movement made the student who was introducing himself stop. The Fourth Hokage looked at Ye Han with a smile. "Ye Han, is there something you need?"
Only then did Ye Han realize he had stood up. Everyone in the class was looking at him. His mind raced, trying to come up with an excuse, but all he could think about was the Mall System. At last, he settled on the excuse he usually used as a child. Slowly raising his hand, he stammered, "I... I... need to use the bathroom."
The Fourth Hokage smiled. "That's certainly important. Go ahead."
Ye Han hurried out of the classroom. The students began whispering among themselves. Outside, Ye Han couldn't help covering his face. How embarrassing. Still, he decided to go to the restroom and collect himself first.
He had been in this world for more than half a year. He'd had the Mall System ever since he first crossed over, but it had never activated. Now, seeing it finally come online, Ye Han couldn't help feeling excited.
Ye Han silently thought, Mall, and a series of new prompts rang out.

This has to be made in China, Ye Han thought. Still, no matter how tacky the names were, just hearing them made his heart race. In Naruto, what did it take to become powerful? Aside from an overwhelming battle sense, it mostly came down to Kekkei Genkai and ninjutsu.
Ye Han opened the Bloodline Pavilion. A host of powerful Kekkei Genkai appeared, and he naturally started by looking at the ones he was most interested in.

Excellent. It looked like he could get a Kekkei Genkai without having to suffer emotional trauma. Ye Han also figured that after experiencing emotional trauma, a person would probably be a wreck anyway.
Ye Han moved on to another one. Wood Release was the First's powerful Kekkei Genkai, reputed to be the strongest of all chakra natures. In the First's hands, its many powerful techniques were almost unstoppable. Combined with the Sharingan, it could evolve into the Rinnegan, making it an obvious first choice.
Looking at it, Ye Han felt as if his future was full of hope. The old man had finally treated him well by sending him here. He'd never curse him again. Ye Han tapped "Learn."

Damn it! What was this supposed to mean? He knew there was no such thing as a free lunch, but shouldn't a newly opened shop at least offer a beginner's gift pack? He should get at least eight or ten Kekkei Genkai for free! How could they start charging before he'd even gotten to try anything?
What the hell were Points? Ye Han opened the help section and read the explanation.
