"You really want to come along?"
Xu Jingming looked at Ling Ge, his brow furrowing.
He really didn't want to bring her.
Ling Ge Dominator had already straightened her skirt.
But several creases remained in the lavish elven court gown, pressed into it when she had been held across his lap.
She stood ramrod straight, her silver hair slightly disheveled.
A few strands clung to the tips of her reddened ears. She looked both flustered and stubborn.
When Xu Jingming looked her way, she instinctively pressed her long legs tightly together.
She angled them to one side beneath her skirt and said with less confidence than she intended, "Hitting me again won't help! I'm coming with you."
Xu Jingming glanced at her and sighed inwardly.
What had happened to the lofty woman he had first met on Heavenly Peak Mountain?
How had that incomparably regal ancestor of the Elf Race ended up like this?
At the thought, Xu Jingming gave a soft snort.
"I can't be bothered to hit you. You might enjoy it."
"You—!"
Ling Ge Dominator flushed scarlet with embarrassment and anger, her chest rising and falling sharply.
But she couldn't beat Xu Jingming, so all she could do was fume.
Worst of all, Xu Jingming wasn't entirely wrong...
When those slaps had landed, she had felt more than a burning sting.
There had also been a strange, tingling sensation she could hardly admit to.
The thought left Ling Ge mortified.
She turned her head away, the pointed tips of her elven ears red as blood.
Xu Jingming didn't notice. After a moment's thought, he said,
"You can come along.
But the moment things get dangerous, you're going straight into my World Ring. Understood?"
"All right."
Ling Ge nodded instinctively, so obediently that even she seemed surprised.
"Good."
