"Lord Shisui, we failed to capture Obito Uchiha. We've disappointed you."
Inside the headquarters building of the Konoha Military Police Force, The Six, led by Itachi Uchiha, stood before Shisui's office door with guilty expressions, reporting the details of the mission's execution.
"No one can succeed forever. Learning from failure, constantly improving, and refining yourselves are what matter most." Shisui was not overly harsh with his trusted subordinates. Getting back on one's feet after a failure and striving for success next time was also one of the essential lessons on the path to becoming strong.
"Bring the experience from this operation back to your respective teams. I hope the Konoha Military Police Force under your command can improve as well."
"We'll carry out your instructions, Lord Shisui."
After seeing off The Five, Shisui kept only Itachi Uchiha behind.
"Tell me, what do you think of Obito Uchiha? And what do you think of his defection from the village?"
It had been some time since Shisui had last looked into Obito's situation, and he wanted to hear Itachi Uchiha's opinion.
"I felt that Obito was in a strange state." Recalling Obito's dissatisfaction and indignation during their clash, Itachi Uchiha spoke with a slight furrow in his brow.
"Oh? Tell me. What was strange about it?" Shisui asked with interest.
"I just feel that Obito's defection wasn't born out of hatred for the village or the clan, but from the dissatisfaction in his heart." Itachi Uchiha voiced his thoughts.
"Dissatisfaction?" By this point, Shisui had already roughly guessed the reason.
"Yes. During our fight, he said that I wasn't worthy of becoming the captain of the Konoha Military Police Force. Obito believed he was more qualified for the position. In his view, all those years in the Anbu had buried his talents."
