"AAAAAHHH!" Enraged, Nagato simply gave up controlling the two giant claws and instead directly controlled the remnant body of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path beneath him. It opened its huge mouth full of sharp teeth and bit at the drifting energy in the air.
After enclosing a mass of drifting energy within its enormous mouth, the remnant body showed no swallowing motion at all, yet the energy was consumed.
Afterward, the remnant body of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path began rapidly splitting and multiplying. Before long, it had grown another size larger, while Nagato's half-body absorbed the energy and completely repaired the areas that had just been damaged by the drifting energy.
This positive feedback stimulated Nagato even further, and he continued chasing the free-floating energy, swallowing it mouthful by mouthful.
During this process, the remnant body of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path continued expanding. When that oval mass swelled to a certain extent, four round bulges actually protruded from its body, like the limbs of the oval mass.
Some skin tissue had also grown over Nagato's formerly mangled torso, and he actually showed signs of recovering into a human form.
Perhaps once Nagato consumed all the free-floating energy in the entire ruin, both he and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path might be able to recover their complete forms.
