Ryūdō Temple's Scheme and Jeanne's Arrival

After repelling Cú Chulainn and the unknown enemy Archer, Iori led Tohsaka Rin and the others back toward Ryūdō Temple.

Halfway there, Iori suddenly let out a cold laugh. Then he closed his eyes, raised a finger, and sent a strand of magical energy vanishing from his hand.

A violent explosion erupted in the distance, its flames and thunderous roar resounding through the sky.

Seeing the blast, Tohsaka Rin looked at Iori with a headache and complained, "What did you do? How did you cause such a huge commotion nearby?"

"You people really don't take the rules of the Holy Grail War seriously at all."

"At this rate, the entire city's gas supply won't be enough for all your explosions."

Iori shrugged and said casually, "That depends on how strong the other side really is, and how much of my strength I need to use."

"What did you do just now?" After trading a few remarks, Tohsaka Rin still could not help but press him.

"After we drove back those two Servants, Kotomine Kirei apparently wasn't willing to give up. He sent familiars to secretly follow us." Iori spread his hands. "So I left them a surprise."

Tohsaka Rin nodded, feeling somewhat ashamed. She was still too inexperienced. She had relaxed her guard so easily. If not for Iori, their new base would probably have been exposed as well.

"Is it dealt with now?" Tohsaka Rin asked.

"Yeah. To stay hidden, the familiars they sent were fairly weak. I thought I might catch a big fish, but they were just a few small fry. They couldn't even withstand the first wave of attacks." Iori sounded disappointed.

He had originally hoped to capture a few familiars and follow the trail to determine whether that priest really was the person he suspected.
