Chiyo and Pakura

When Chiyo heard that Pakura was still alive, she immediately set aside her work and rushed without pause to the gates of Sunagakure.

Though she was nearly seventy years old, she moved so quickly that she left even the young man who had come to deliver the news far behind.

Upon reaching the gates, she gradually slowed down and walked toward Pakura.

"Is it really you, Pakura?" she asked in a complicated tone, filled with both expectation and doubt.

When that tragedy had happened, she and her younger brother Ebizo had been occupied with investigating the disappearance of the Third Kazekage and her own grandson, Sasori.

It was only after their investigation had reached a temporary conclusion and they returned to the village that they learned of Pakura's death.

But the moment she heard it, she felt something was wrong. At the time, the conflict between Iwagakure Ninja and Sunagakure had not been severe, and there had been no powerful figures there capable of easily killing Pakura.

Moreover, Sunagakure's reconciliation with Kirigakure had come far too quickly, happening almost right on the heels of Pakura's death.

Considering Kirigakure's hatred for Pakura, Chiyo found it difficult not to connect the two matters.

Later, under Chiyo's relentless questioning, several Sunagakure elders could not withstand the pressure and honestly revealed what had happened, even self-righteously claiming it had been for Sunagakure's sake.

As for Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, though he had not been the mastermind, he had tacitly allowed it to happen and claimed the credit for the peace talks with Kirigakure.
