Pakura, weary from travel, returned to Sunagakure. Without wasting a moment, she headed straight for the Kazekage Building.

The guard ninja at the entrance immediately straightened up upon seeing Pakura and saluted her. "Fifth Kazekage!"

Pakura's trip to the Land of Wind's capital had long ceased to be a secret within the village. By custom, the daimyo would not question the choice of Kazekage; Pakura's visit to the capital had merely been a formality.

Now that she had returned, she must have received the daimyo's approval and become the Fifth Kazekage.

Pakura nodded in acknowledgment and did not stop. Chiyo's chakra, along with that of the two senior officials, was inside the Kazekage Building. It seemed she would not need to make two trips.

Looking at the door before her, Pakura had no intention of knocking. She shoved it open.

Bang!! The door slammed into the wall with a deafening crash.

Chiyo and the two senior officials glared angrily at the intruder, but their expressions soon changed.

Seeing Pakura covered in dust yet unharmed, Chiyo's irritation immediately eased, and a smile appeared on her face.

Pakura's safe return meant that she had surely foiled their plan.

The other two, however, were in no mood to celebrate. Since Pakura had returned alive, their scheme had undoubtedly failed.

Worse still, in order to lure Pakura into their trap, they had personally involved themselves. Neither of them could now clear themselves of suspicion for ambushing the new Kazekage.

Pakura smiled at Chiyo, then turned to the two senior officials and said coldly, "Surprised that I made it back alive?"
