Annexation
As the Girislav knights in the Wolf-Barbarian camp were taken away by Valkin's cavalry, the border contest between the Gallop Plains and Girislav came to an end as well. Landen could not reach his hand into the Frost-Wolf Forest, and Girislav's king, Peteriev Nicholas, could not enter Lokirav Pass either.
Although both Landen and Valkin knew that this division was doomed not to last, Landen was only the master of Night-Kirin City within the Empire, while Girislav still had not fully swallowed even the Frost-Wolf Forest. One side had no proper claim, the other had no strength, so they could only temporarily place their pieces along a clearly drawn border.
"Let's go. We're heading back to White Wolf City!" Landen watched Valkin and the others leave, then shouted.
"My Lord? Are you really planning to hand the Eastern Region border over to that pack of Wolf-Barbarians?" Wains said somewhat unwillingly from the side. In his eyes, this small town on the Eastern Region border should have been his fief. Yet just before they had formed up to leave the city, Landen had already reached an agreement with the Wolf Priest Panita: the small town would be opened to the Wolf-Barbarians and the Beastmen in the Frost-Wolf Forest. This left Senior Knight Wains feeling rather defeated.
"Mind your wording, knight." Landen saw through Wains's little thoughts, but did not want to expose them. "I don't want to put all my precious energy on the Eastern Region border, so I can only make certain concessions."
What Landen could not explain to Wains was that what he had truly set his eyes on was Panita and the Ancient God of Life behind her. Panita and that Imola should both be believers of that ancient god. An ancient god could raise His Clerics
