That night, Landen did not return to Night-Kirin City, but stayed at Baron Gallop's castle instead. He sat in the nursery, looking at the central tower, his mind turning over questions related to magic: What was magic? What exactly were magic elements? Why were there Life Magic elements in the forest, yet so few on the plains?

"What's gotten into you? Huddling here instead of sleeping—are you planning to become an earth Mage?" Tania's voice came from behind Landen. As she and Fiana flew down from the watchtower of the baron's castle, Landen could clearly feel the flow of magic elements around him growing faster and faster.

"In your senses, what exactly is magic power?" Landen kept staring at the tall tower and spoke dazedly. "Is it like water to fish, wind to birds? But you're made of magic elements too. What does the Magic Web feel like to you?"

"You're staying up instead of sleeping just to think about something this profound?" The two Magic Fairies were rather curious about Landen's line of thought. "Is it because the nightmares from before gave you insomnia?"

"Tania, let me ask you, is the magical environment inside this nursery much better than outside it now?" Landen suddenly asked.

"Of course. Isn't that what this ring of walls is for?" Tania and Fiana exchanged a look, feeling that Landen did not seem to be ill after all.

"Then is the proportion of earth elements inside the nursery higher now?" Landen continued before Tania could answer. "Then tell me, are the earth magic elements in this nursery an enrichment of the nearby earth elements? Or are they newly born magic elements from the Magic Web?
